| Staging your home in Edmonton...pros and cons
If you are going to put your home up for sale, the concept of using a professional to help you with staging the home for the open house, is something which many sellers consider doing. The process of staging is the concept of getting the home to look perfect and appeal to buyers, so that they can actually see themselves, and their family, living in the home. So, if you are considering using these services, there are both pros and cos, which the homeowner putting their house on the market must consider.
Today, with the poor market conditions, no matter how good a home looks, you may not get the offers you want. So, this is definately a con to staging. You are going to spend the money to make the home look great, but you may not get your asking price. Other cons include, the high cost of hiring a person to help you stage the home, having to buy new furniture, art, paint, and other things to actually stage the home, and the idea that you are going to have to put additional money in, if you want to get the home sold. The costs involved in staging, especially a large home, can get pretty high. So, this is definately the major con, along with the fact that the market is so poor, that no matter how well you stage, it may be a while before you get an offer.
There are pros to staging as well. Of course, the home will be more appealing to the eye, you will get more traffic at an open house, and you are definately going to make the home appeal to the buyer. This will definately draw in more offers, and get more traffic when the house is up for sale.
